• Question: Why are their not sixty hours in a day?!

      But imagine if there were 60 hours in a day… A school/work day would be sooooooo much longer! And who would want that?! 😉

      if there were 60 hours in a day then each hour would be shorter (so that they all fitted into that one circle of the earth going round the sun). and if I still worked a 1/3 of a day, which would be 20hours, but got paid the same amount per hour…. then I’d be rich!!! 😉

      but so would the rest of the population so maybe in real terms it wouldn’t help.

      What is a day? a revolution around Earth axis.
      You can divide it as many moments as you like. 24 is a medium size number that give you flexibility without going too crazy in the details. For that we invented minutes!
