Not at all 😛 Although I wish it was!
We are taking part in the I’m a scientist project for two weeks to talk to all of you about what we do and also to answer any questions you might have. It’s just something a little bit different for all us scientists compared to our normal working week! When I’m not on here answering questions I am still doing my research, maybe running code in the background and analysing results 🙂 And I am writing my thesis at the minute! EEEeek! (which is all of my work over the last 4 years put together into one big book!) So thats keeping me very busy! 😛

Haha, in a way I suppose it is, only the questions I try to answer are ones that haven’t been asked before and may or may not have an answer!

Events like I’m A Scientist aren’t an official part of our job, but they are very important. We call it outreach, and it’s any activity that involves us speaking to people who aren’t scientists about our work!

It’s really important because sometimes science can be misunderstood, and it can be difficult to understand, so I think every scientist should (and most do) spend some time learning to talk about what they do in a way that’s accessible. It also helps us keep getting fresh young minds into science, which is great!

This is not my main job but it is part of my job.
As Marie Currie Fellow I have a duty as Ambassador of Science in engaging with public, describe my work and promote science in general. This is an activity a like, that is way I applied to I’m a Scientists!
On a daily basis I work on the ATLAS experiment but from time to time I do this type of activities. For example last year I was at the Big Bang fair and at the Royal Society exhibition.

Not at all – I’ve actually been answering these questions in my free time over this fortnight (which might be why I’m so behind on answering questions than the others…)
