I am still trying to decide! haha When I decided to do my PhD I was 22 and I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to go in to research or not but thought I would try and see if I liked it 🙂 During my degree I changed my mind about what I wanted to do so many times because at uni you meet so many amazing people and learn so much more about yourself and whats out there in the big wide world!

I still haven’t! It’s more a case of knowing the things I enjoy doing, and seeing who will pay me to do them 😛

I decided that I wanted to study physics in my final year of high school, so I was 19. I then decided to by a physicists during my summer studentship in my third year of University. I changed my mind after a post-doc in France and changed back after working outside the academic environment for two years. I still do not know what I will be doing in a year from now. Welcome to the post-modern world!

well, I wanted to be an engineer and design rockets for space travel when I was 14 until I was 21. and then I got offered a job designing magnets for particle accelerators and I thought ‘why not?’. So for now that’s interesting, but we’ll just have to see what the future brings.
