• Question: How can quantum gravity help explain the origin of the universe?

      I’m really not sure about this one, its not in my area of research…

      I had a little look at a Wikipedia article on Loop Quantum Gravity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loop_quantum_gravity) and it says that loop quantum gravity provides evidence that you can extend time back to before the Big Bang – but instead of a Big Bang they call it a Big Bounce – this is like a Big Crunch followed by a Big Bang followed by a Big Crunch and just repeats and repeats itself.

      I don’t really know the details too much as its not anything I have ever studied 🙁 Hopefully one of the other scientists can help a bit more! Sorry!
