  Particles can travel faster than sound. What about light particles (photons)? Surely they travel at the speed of light 😉 Plus maybe you remember the big hype about the “faster than light neutrinos?” (which was found to be a computational error, which was a relief since some people had already started to doubt Einstein!). We can accelerate particles in colliders up to 99% the speed of light – waaaaaay faster than sound 🙂
