In my opinion, Big bang theory is still waiting proved in the future, it is just a kind of theory about birth of the universe.

Well, the main prove of the Big Bang is the cosmic microwave radiation, that is a big smoking gun in the sense that no other theory can explain it while is perfectly described by the Big Bang. Last year there was a lot of noise for a measurement made in Antarctica about early inflation of the Universe. If this is ever confirmed (which apparently it has not been by other experiments) it will be another strong support for the Big Bang theory. I am not sure if a theory of a unique event in Nature can ever be finally proven correct in a strict scientific way since it will be hard to replicate. Nevertheless that is the best description we have of the beginning of time in our Universe.

As Michele has said we are still waiting for it to be proved, however it depends on what evidence can be found as to how quickly something can be proved or disproved. Seeing that far back in time to when the universe began is extremely difficult and lots of different theories are coming out all the time. There has been research published this year on how there was no beginning of the universe… but last year there were the results in Antarctica, which Michele has mentioned, that backs up the Big Bang… So I don’t think we are any closer to proving/disproving the theory just yet!
